Proferly Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Proferly ("we," "us," "our") collects when you use our website and services (the "Platform"), and how we use it. By using Proferly, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up using Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not receive or store your Google password.
If you're a customer:
- Details of the service request you post: description, category, tags, budget, and photos.
- Your general location (country, province/state, city, and postal code where provided), used to match you with relevant businesses. We never share your exact GPS coordinates with businesses.
- Your phone number and preferred call availability — collected only when you accept an offer from a business, not when you post a request.
If you're a business:
- Your business profile, including services offered and portfolio.
- Offers you submit, including price, proposal, and timeline.
- Payment details for the platform fee, processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
Automatically collected. We collect basic technical information (such as your general location inferred from your IP address) to provide location-relevant features like local currency display, and to help prevent fraud.
2. How We Use Information
We use this information to:
- Match customer requests with relevant businesses.
- Let businesses submit offers and customers compare and accept them.
- Process the platform fee when a business is selected.
- Reveal a customer's phone number and call availability to a business only after the customer has accepted their offer and the business has paid the platform fee.
- Send you transactional emails related to your activity on Proferly (e.g. a new offer, an accepted offer, payment confirmation). We do not send marketing emails without your separate consent.
- Keep the Platform secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
3. How Information Is Shared
Between customers and businesses. A customer's contact information stays private and is only shared with the business they've selected, and only after that business has paid the platform fee. Businesses never see each other's offers on the same request.
Service providers. We use a small number of trusted providers to run Proferly, who only access information as needed to provide their service to us:
- Supabase — database and account infrastructure.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Resend — sending transactional emails.
- Mapbox / OpenStreetMap — converting location coordinates into general location information.
- Cloudflare — website hosting and security.
Legal requirements. We may share information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Proferly or our users.
4. Your Choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at contact@proferly.com.
5. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Platform and meet legal obligations. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 4).
6. Children's Privacy
Proferly is not intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at contact@proferly.com and we'll remove it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post any changes on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
